LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)

Summary

The LIMS screen in WMS will present itself to the WMS operator when they are undertaking Lab Testing.

This page will cover the basics of how this works.

Table of Contents

Screen Overview

The LIMS screen will be when the WMS operator is undertaking lab testing in WMS. It will look something like this, depending on the number of questions required for that particular test.

From here the operator will be able to select a test as they are performing it, hit the green check, and enter the result, either by selecting an option from a list, or by manually typing the result. This entered result will then be displayed on this screen and the operator can move on to the next test.

The operator’s column view can be customised using the drop down menu in the top left of the screen to show and hide columns, and also by dragging and dropping the columns to best suit the operator’s workflow.

Operators can also manually search this list of tests by hitting the search icon in the bottom left of the screen (1). They can also use the refresh icon (2) where they will either be able to refresh the current sample set, or choose a different one.

They can then search for their test/question, using a variety of different parameters.

Alternate views for the LIMS screen can also be presented to the operator, such as the one below where we are asked to choose a sample set to view/reopen.

FAQ

Why can’t I see any tests to perform here?

This is most likely down to the wrong commodity/formula being selected. Lab testing can be made to apply to specific commodities only, so return to the commodity selection screen and double check that you are dealing with the correct commodity.
