Summary

The ‘Operators’ section of the V5 Control Center allows for the creation and management of user accounts that will be used by employees throughout V5 Traceability. Different privileges and levels of system access can be assigned here on a per-user basis.

This page provides a basic overview of the ‘Operators’ section in Control Center, and will help guide you through the various columns that define its settings. For a more in-depth look at how to set up and use ‘Operators’, click here.

Control Center Overview

The ‘Operators’ section can be found under the ‘Setup’ header of Control Center.

This section is made up of 2 panels:

  • Left (yellow) panel: This is where Operators can be created and managed. New users can also be registered on the Control Center login page.
  • Right (red) panel: This is where templates can be created and quickly assigned to new users to streamline the operator creation process.

Each V5 system will have the ‘SG User’ operator. This allows our support representatives to be able to access the system if required.

Column Help – Left Panel

Username

Name given to identify the Operator.

Password

The 4-digit PIN code the Operator will use to sign in to V5 applications. Must be unique.

Supervisor

Indicate whether or not this operator should be classed as a supervisor. This will allow/restrict access to more sensitive areas of the V5 system’s features. There are 3 options here:

  • Full – Allows supervisor overrides to be authorised by this operator. Also allows access to full application settings of Terminal & WMS.
  • Partial – Allows supervisor overrides to be authorised by this operator. Only allows access to Terminal user settings.
  • No – This operator will be unable to perform supervisor overrides. Only allows access to Terminal user settings.

Site

Drop down menu populated from ‘Sites’ that indicates where this operator will be working.

Secondary Password

Allows the entry of an alphanumeric password that can be used, along with the operator’s Username to log in instead of using a 4-digit PIN. Contact SG support for help implementing this feature.

Locked

Whether the operator’s account is locked due to password entry failure, or from a supervisor manually checking the box in this column.

Password Expiry

Shows when that particular operator’s current password will expire, after which they will be asked to create a new password on their next login. Password expiry length can be set as a system configuration.

Email Address

The operators email address can be entered here to allow emails to be sent from different areas of the system, such as Q&A.

Role

The operator’s role within the system. These options only apply once username and password logins are enabled, and are designed to allow the management of operators to be managed by an IT administrator. When this feature is enabled, the roles work as follows:

  • User – Allows access to all areas of Control Center except ‘Operators’.
  • IT Administrator – Only allows access to ‘Operators’.
